Dear TEDxABQ Community,
I hope that your 2018 is off to a great start! At TEDxABQ, we are excitedly looking forward to a great year—and one of change.
My past 5 years with TEDxABQ have been incredibly formative, allowing me to explore concepts and worlds I never would have encountered otherwise. I’ve been inspired by the outstanding people I’ve met in this community—speakers, performers, volunteers, partners, and supporters. I have had the great pleasure of helping some of our community’s greatest change makers share their message on the TEDxABQ stage, furthering their ideas and inspiring others in the community. In this next chapter, I am excited to make a direct contribution to challenges that we face now and into the future. I’ve decided to follow my dream of working to address water issues that impact both humans and the environment. First stop: graduate school, beginning in the fall of 2018.
I will continue to work with TEDxABQ through May 4, 2018. The TEDxABQ Advisory Board is officially accepting applications for the next Executive Director (ED) through February 15th. We are looking for the next ED to be a visionary leader who will lead the organization through its ongoing evolution, continuing to build community in New Mexico through the power of ideas.
When I saw my first TEDxABQ billboard at Montaño and Fourth in 2013, I had no idea what a huge role this organization and community would play in my life. As I look ahead with enthusiasm at the next great challenge, I also look back with deep gratitude for the people I’ve had the pleasure to meet, befriend, and work with in this beautiful, charming, complicated place. I have been completely bewitched by all that New Mexico and her people have to offer. I’m grateful for the time I have spent here, and feel solace knowing that such a multifaceted and rich community is blossoming with wonderful people at the heart of it. Thank you for allowing me to be part of it!
And thank you so much for being a valued part of the TEDxABQ community! On behalf of myself and the Board, we look forward to many more years of ideas worth spreading in New Mexico 🙂
Warmly and with gratitude,
Beth Haley
